Kathryn’s Story

Prior to becoming a real estate agent, my husband and I lived and worked in Japan. Upon our return to the Bay Area, we worked together in our home remodeling business. I know houses from the ground up and inside out; both buyers and sellers benefit from my construction experience. When not busy with clients, I enjoy hiking, reading, doing yoga, traveling, practicing German and spending time with family.

HOME REMODELING

My interest in housing started many years ago while I was working with my husband in our remodeling business.  I learned a lot about construction from him including the difference between good and bad quality work and how it is worth doing a project right the first time.  He has been a wonderful source of information for me during my years of doing real estate.

MY BACKGROUND

My childhood years from age 5 to 10 were spent in Switzerland and England.  It was in Zurich that my parent’s enrolled my sister and I in the Rudolf Steiner Waldorf School.  I have such fond memories of growing up in Europe and my school years there. I particularly enjoyed our family excursions exploring the countryside or playing in the woods near our home. And to this day, most of the trips that my husband and children have taken center around hiking in the mountains.

TEACHING and REAL ESTATE

In the early '70s, I taught dance in Sebastopol and then spend two and half years in Japan teaching English as a Second Language. When I started my real estate career I soon discovered that practicing real estate is like teaching.  I love helping my clients understand their options so that they can make the best decisions about their transactions..
